With the invention of the SCHUKO plug, our company founder Albert Büttner set a new standard for electrical connecting devices in 1925. SCHUKO is short for the German 'Schutzkontakt' (protected contact). Because of its circular geometry and two protected contacts, SCHUKO is regarded as especially safe to use in comparison with other electrical connecting device systems.
The success story of Albert Büttner's invention speaks for itself. Today, SCHUKO is the globally most widely used standard for electrical connecting devices.
With the Compact, Original, Hightech, Expert and Professional series our new product programme offers high-quality plugs and connectors for use in harsh conditions. Thanks to innovative technological features and particularly robust and durable materials, ABL plugs and connectors are the first choice for trade, construction and industry.
Compact
The plugs and connectors in the Compact series are compact and made of durable materials. They are designed for indoor use under low mechanical stress, e.g. for lightweight hand-held devices and electrical appliances.

Original
The plugs and connectors in the Original series are made from durable materials and have a particularly comfortable grip. They are designed for heavy mechanical loads, e.g. on appliances in commercial operations, power tools and DIY equipment.

Hightech
Our plugs and connectors from the Hightech series are made of the extremely resilient high-performance plastic Elamid and are designed for use in harsh conditions, e.g. on construction sites or in agricultural operations. The connector is available in three versions: without sleeve, with sleeve or with hinged cover. A screwdriver fits all screws and the screw for fastening the handle is captive.

SCREWED SEAL
Expert
Expert series plugs and connectors are designed for the highest mechanical loads and are equipped with the ABL quick-release fastener. A quarter turn is all it takes to securely connect the handle and contact carrier.

One quarter rotation is sufficient to securely connect grip and contact carrier.

The SCHUKOplus built-in socket outlet with flanged fixing is made from highly impact resistant thermoplastic, and designed for extremely heavy duty use. SCHUKOplus is perfectly suited to portable applications. Plugged or unplugged – thanks to the integrated rim, SCHUKOplus is always sealed.

BOWA 67 has IP67 protection rating and is therefore absolutely dust and waterproof when closed.
